Quinoa is a grain that’s delicious when cooked correctly, but sticky if cooked incorrectly 🙂 It’s a favorite for those following a gluten-free diet, those who can’t digest bulgur, and those who want to eat healthily.
Fluffy Quinoa
Now I’ll tell you how to cook quinoa so nicely, without it becoming sticky. There are two common mistakes when cooking quinoa. One is not washing the quinoa well enough, and the other is adding too much water while cooking. You can cook quinoa to your desired consistency using the method I’ve outlined below.
🌸 We wash it thoroughly under running water. If it’s not washed well, it will have a bland taste.
🌸 We cook 1 measure of quinoa with 1.25 measures of cold water. After it boils, we reduce the heat and let it simmer until the water is absorbed.
🌸 We cook it in a wide pan.
Ta-da! Your wonderful quinoa is ready 🙂
I’d also like to add a recipe you can make with cooked, fluffy quinoa. This is a delicious and filling salad recipe that can be packed for a trip on vacation or taken to work.

Quinoa Salad
🌸I cooked and prepared the quinoa in 10 minutes as described above.
🌸I added boiled chickpeas.
🌸Olive oil and lemon. Adding the dressing while it’s warm helps it absorb immediately.
🌸I had goat cheese in the refrigerator. To prevent it from spoiling while we were away, I cut it up and added it. Of course, it’s also fine without cheese.
🌸I also chopped and added fresh cilantro. Parsley, mint, dill – any would work.
🌸Finally, I added pumpkin seeds. They’re not in the photo; I remembered them while eating.
I’ve described my favorite version. You can add/remove as you like. This is also a perfect, non-smudging, non-smelling lunchbox meal 🙂

Enjoy! 🙂
With love,
Sema
