My favorite breakfast porridge, the one I dream about the most. It’s actually very simple, but I photographed the process step-by-step today. Sometimes people ask how it’s made. Well, here you go, it’s that easy!
I prepare these the night before, but you can also prepare them 30 minutes before eating if you prefer. The main point here is that the oats absorb some liquid and swell. Otherwise, they’ll be hard and chewy.
I put 4 tablespoons of oats in the pan.

I add a peeled and grated apple on top. Fruits like bananas, peaches, and nectarines also go very well with it. Sometimes I just make it with dried fruit, like dried apricots or prunes. If I use dried fruit, I also dice them into cubes.

At this stage, I add enough water to cover it, sprinkle with cinnamon, and let it sit. Water is my preferred method. You can use milk if you like, but since there’s no difference in taste, I don’t want to unnecessarily increase the calories. I’ll use almonds, walnuts, and hazelnuts instead 🙂

After waiting at least 30 minutes, I turn on the heat and cook it for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, and my legendary oatmeal porridge is ready. You can also make this without cooking it at all in the summer using yogurt or kefir.
I’d like to ask anyone who says they don’t like oatmeal what they think after trying this. It’s not just oatmeal, it’s like custard! 🙂
I topped it with sugar-free, additive-free peanut butter. Decorating is up to you. Enjoy!
