Friends, hurry, hurry… I made the purest form of chocolate, the biggest weakness of all of us women: no refined sugar, no preservatives, no artificial colors. I’m so happy right now. And it only took 5 minutes. The taste is still lingering in my mouth. I’m having a hard time resisting the urge to eat the whole tray.

Ingredients:

  • Approximately 40 grams (about the size of a palm) of cocoa butter (mine is from Güzel Gıda)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons raw cocoa powder (mine is also from Güzel Gıda)
  • 3 tablespoons apple molasses (grape molasses also works)
  • 2 handfuls of coarsely chopped hazelnuts
  • Dried coconut
  • Brown rice puffs (I added these because I had them at home. You can use nuts and seeds like almonds or sunflower seeds instead, or it’s optional)

First, we melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil using the double boiler method, meaning without exposing them directly to the heat. Put water in a saucepan, place a glass or metal bowl on top, and turn on the heat. Add the oils to the bowl and melt them using the steam from the boiling water.

Once our butter has completely melted and is liquid, add our cocoa and mix. Then, remove the bowl from the pan and let it cool on the counter.

Once the mixture has cooled, add our molasses to prepare the liquid chocolate. Absolutely do not add the molasses while it’s hot. When molasses comes into contact with heat, a harmful substance called HMF is released. If you wait 10 minutes, the mixture will cool down immediately.

Meanwhile, line a bowl with parchment paper and layer the rice puffs, hazelnuts, and coconut flakes in that order. I forgot to line it with parchment paper, and now it’s very difficult to cut, so don’t forget to make sure! 🙂

Once the dry mixture is ready, spoon the liquid chocolate over it and refrigerate. It needs to sit for at least 2 hours. My container was a bit large, so the liquid mixture didn’t cover everything, but I think it turned out great. My container is a 30cm x 20cm rectangular container.

I could hardly wait to take it out of the refrigerator, and I was so surprised by the taste. I didn’t expect it to be this good. It’s real chocolate… The only drawback is that it melts quickly. You can’t just throw it in your bag and take it anywhere. You have to cut and eat it as soon as it comes out of the refrigerator. Hopefully, I’ll find a solution to that in the future 🙂 I need to do some research. It might be because it’s not factory-made.

With this ingredient, my chocolate tasted like dark chocolate. If you prefer it sweeter, you can increase the amount of molasses, but for me, this was delicious.

This makes at least 15 large square chocolates. While it might seem expensive at first, it’s worth it for a high-quality, completely natural chocolate. The whole container costs around 16 lira, and one large square costs about 1 lira. I think this is a very small amount for our health. I specifically mention this because these ingredients are generally considered expensive, but when you look at it this way, you’re making a great contribution to your health.

If you try it, I’ll be eagerly awaiting your comments 🙂 Lots of love.
