Since last week, there’s been a craze for Cauliflower Popcorn and Cauliflower Kısır (a type of Turkish salad). No one would believe this low-carb, guilt-free kısır is made from cauliflower. Everyone who tried it on Instagram agreed with me. So I decided to share this amazing dish on the blog.
Enjoying kısır to your heart’s content 😍 I highly recommend trying it without prejudice. No one will realize it’s cauliflower 😊 I’m so glad cauliflower is back. I’ll be using it in all sorts of ways all winter now. This is my favorite version after popcorn.
🍁 I sautéed an onion well in a pan. Then I added plenty of tomato paste and red pepper paste.
🍁 Divide the cauliflower into florets and process them in a food processor or blender. They’ll be about the size of bulgur right away.
🍁 Next, add the cauliflower bulgur to the pan and continue sautéing with the sautéed onions and tomato paste. Stir occasionally for 4-5 minutes. Your kısır (Turkish bulgur salad) will be ready.
🍁 I turned off the heat and transferred it to a bowl. Once it cooled, I added the greens, red bell pepper, and pickles.
🍁 As a sauce, I mixed olive oil, pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, sumac, and red pepper and poured it over the top, mixing well.
You can eat platefuls of it. It’s very low in calories, tastes very similar to kısır, and doesn’t cause bloating. What more could you want? 😍
