If you, like me, enjoy a mix of bitter, sweet, and sour flavors (my mouth is watering even as I write this 🤤), you’ll fall in love with this cabbage. I’ve been obsessed with it for two days.
– I finely chop an onion and sauté it in olive oil in a pan over low heat. Then I add tomato and chili paste. Those who don’t like spicy food can skip this part. I sauté it a little more with the pastes.
– I finely chop the cabbage. I rub it with salt to soften it. Then I add it to the paste mixture in the pot and cook it, stirring constantly, without adding any water, using only its own juices. It cooks very quickly. I add salt during this process. The lid is always closed.
– After it’s cooked, just before turning off the heat, I drizzle 1 tablespoon of pomegranate molasses over it, squeeze a little lemon juice. I stir it and turn off the heat. Finally, I sprinkle sumac on top when I eat it…
I dare say, this might be the best cabbage I’ve ever eaten. And it only took 15 minutes in total 💃🏼
My cabbage is finished, I want to buy more and eat this every day. 🤩
Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, sugar-free day.
With love,
Sema
