I want to include the recipes that are very popular on Instagram on the blog so they’re always easy to access. This cake was also very popular and tried many times. It became my husband’s favorite. He asked me to make it every day 🙂 I don’t like very sweet flavors, so this one is a little mild. When you eat it, you can perhaps drizzle some molasses, honey, or my husband’s carob syrup on top 🙂
The other morning, I woke up craving cake. As the weather started to cool down, I immediately wanted tea and cake. I went to the kitchen and mixed this cake in 10 minutes. The house was filled with a wonderful aroma. You know, I’m against making desserts with molasses, agave syrups, honey, etc. I wrote about the reasons at length in my column on HTHayat before. You can read it here. Please always stick to real fruits. That’s the healthiest option. This cake isn’t too sweet. If you want it sweeter, you can add a handful of black raisins, 4-5 dates, or any of the ingredients I mentioned above after it’s baked. My cake lives up to its English name, it’s a bit closer to bread 🙂
Ingredients:
- 2 mashed bananas
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons coconut flour
- 2 tablespoons almond flour
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- A pinch of baking soda or baking powder
- Plenty of cinnamon
- Grated nutmeg (optional but smells wonderful)
- 2 handfuls of coarsely chopped walnuts

I mashed the bananas thoroughly. Then I mixed in the eggs, milk, and oil. I added all the dry ingredients to this liquid mixture. I poured it into a cake pan and baked it in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for about 45 minutes. I’d made this before, but without almond flour. Many people had tried it and liked it then, but this one turned out a little better.
And a heart appeared in my cake! That’s how romantic this cake is 🙂
