Kolay Humus

Hummus is one of my favorite dishes. It can be both a side dish and a main course. It’s very filling, a storehouse of protein and nutrients, but I can’t make it whenever I crave it because the chickpeas need to be soaked overnight and then boiled. It requires at least 12 hours of preparation.

This time, I made hummus that only took 10 minutes. The taste was absolutely amazing.

I made the hummus with chickpea flour. If you have chickpea flour at home, making hummus only takes 10 minutes. If you don’t have chickpea flour, you can find it at your nearest large supermarket. Mine is from Teofarm, and there are other brands in supermarkets too.

Ingredients:

1 cup chickpea flour
1 cup lukewarm water
3 tablespoons tahini
1 clove of garlic
1 lemon juice
A pinch of salt

We lightly toast the chickpea flour in a pan with a wooden spoon. If you don’t do this, it will have a raw taste. If you toast it too much, it will be like roasted chickpeas 🙂 So, ideally, toast it for 2-3 minutes over low heat without stopping.

Once the roasting process is complete, we transfer the chickpea flour to a bowl and let it cool slightly.

Meanwhile, you can squeeze in the lemon juice and crush the garlic. Once the chickpea flour has cooled, add the water and start mixing. Then add the lemon juice, tahini, garlic, and salt, quickly mix one last time, and it’s ready to eat. It’s that simple to make 🙂
