Ruh hastalanmadan beden hastalanmıyor...

I’ve been saying and explaining this for a long time. We constantly learned and saw this in the training I received.

It’s already a physiological and proven phenomenon. I’ll go into more detail later. I experienced the stress/illness relationship at certain points in my life, but I’d forgotten about it. I wanted to tell you about it now that I’m experiencing it firsthand. Before an illness manifests in the body, always look at what came before. If our soul is sick, an illness follows from our body because everything lies there. Both good and bad…

I want to tell you about something that happened to me a few years ago.

I’m generally a very allergic person. In the spring, my eyes swell and itch, I sneeze a lot, and my nose runs a lot from time to time… But something that had never happened before started in the last year. I couldn’t breathe in places with cats; it was asthma. My closest friend has two cats, and we now meet in cafes like lovers. Since allergies are something that changes form, I thought, “It’ll pass anyway, I’ll stay away from places with cats for a while.” You know, I’ve had a dog for 15 years and I’ve never had any problems with dogs. I said the cat would pass too.

I’d been keeping myself away from cat-related environments for a while to prevent asthma attacks. But it happened for the first time in my own home, in my own bed, after returning from vacation. Not just one night, but four nights in a row… I literally wanted to cry. It’s so hard not being able to breathe, especially at night while you’re asleep. Night asthma, the headache it caused the next day, those four days, and then the days that started with me being sure this asthma wouldn’t go away and seriously considering taking action.

Meanwhile, I absolutely hated the house I was living in. “Hatted” was an understatement. I had already decided to move out, but for the past two months, I’d been saying at least 15 times a day, “I’m suffocating in this house, it’s like a prison.” When I was out, I didn’t want to go home; I’d walk around the supermarket aisles three times just to avoid coming back. When these asthma attacks started, I wondered to myself, “Did I keep saying I was suffocating at home, and now my body is suffocating?” But that thought seemed ridiculous. I told myself, “Don’t get carried away,” and started looking at the physical causes.

Yesterday, I went to a wonderful doctor. I want him to be a part of my life forever. He’s a Pulmonologist, Immunologist, and Phytotherapist. He takes a completely holistic approach to human health. The idea of herbal treatments really captivates me. I went on a friend’s recommendation. I told him I wouldn’t go if he gave me chemical medication; I negotiated with him upfront, and I left feeling completely impressed.

After explaining all my problems, I also told him about my funny theory of feeling suffocated at home, and bingo! Apparently, conditions like asthma and bronchitis start with psychological causes. I had made my soul sick, and then that reflected on my body. I kept sending “We’re suffocating” signals to my body, and then we suffocated. I was very happy in Kaş; our room’s terrace was wonderful, and on the first night we arrived home, the night I said “I’m suffocating in this house again,” I had my first asthma attack. We’re now on a 20-day treatment that will relieve me. My doctor called me for a check-up after we moved in, instead of the usual 15 days later… We applied a 20-day treatment that relieved me. After moving in, all my asthma attacks stopped. Now, except during seasonal changes, I hardly ever have them.

By the way, if I hadn’t eaten so healthily and had such a strong immune system, I might be a very severe asthma patient right now. If I’m getting through this so easily, it’s because of my healthy diet and lifestyle. So, mind and body are one. Taking good care of our minds while also nourishing our bodies works as a whole.

Many autoimmune diseases are preceded by major traumas, sorrows, and stress. Life isn’t always carefree, of course, but it’s very important to know this while living… Our bodies perceive every signal we send them, directly and straightforwardly. When under a lot of stress, the body thinks it’s under threat of death and puts all vital functions on hold, but in modern life, life goes on. You can find this in my writings on mindfulness, and I even address these topics in the book I’m finishing now. I’ll explain the details next week.

Wishing everyone healthy, happy, and sugar-free days…
