Every month I use it, I think, “I want to tell all my sisters about it,” and I’ve been using it for 4 years and I’m so happy with it that I want to remind you again about the “menstrual cup.” A warning before we begin!
⚠️ ‼️ This is just my personal experience. You can consult your doctor. Those at risk of toxic shock syndrome should especially consult their doctor at their own risk.
Every month I use it, I say, “What a waste of 25 years without you.” It would take too long to list all the harms of pads. You can find information with a simple Google search. Leaving aside all the harms, even the contact of a bleached substance with the most sensitive part of our body, a place highly susceptible to bacterial growth and moisture, is a problem.
The harm it does to the world is another matter. And then there’s the discomfort. A constant rustling, full feeling. I didn’t even realize how uncomfortable pads were until I switched to the menstrual cup.
🎈With the menstrual cup, I don’t even realize I’m on my monthly cycle anymore.
🎈I think it’s very easy to put on; there are videos on YouTube. You just fold it in half and insert it. There are videos on YouTube, please check them out.
🎈One cup holds about 3 pads worth of liquid, and cleaning it every 12 hours is enough. My first few nights were very heavy. One tampon and one pad were barely enough. I haven’t had any problems with the cup; it’s more than enough.
🎈It’s removed every 5-6-7 hours (depending on need), emptied into the toilet, washed in the sink, and put back on. I researched this for two years. This was the point I worried about the most, how to empty it. It’s not dirty at all.
🎈And again, after I started using a menstrual cup, I realized that unpleasant smell isn’t our blood. It’s something that comes from sitting on a pad. Believe me, it’s not something to avoid or be disgusted by.
🎈I boil it for 5 minutes before the first use and after the last use in each cycle. Once dry, I put it in its bag and store it.
🎈There’s no need to empty it when I’m out because it stays there for many hours. I never actually stay out that long.
Every woman should experience the comfort of water. I hope you love it as much as I do, and that you’ll do this favor for yourself and our world. 💗
