İştahı Azaltan Tozlar/İçecekler

This is something I hear very often from you: “So-and-so is recommending this APPETITE SUPPRESSANT powder on their account. What do you think?” This “so-and-so” is sometimes a famous influencer (I’m incredibly saddened that they mislead you for advertising purposes without any training in nutrition and supplements, that’s a separate issue), and sometimes, I’m very sorry to say, a healthcare professional.

Getting hungry is perfectly normal. There’s no need to feel guilty or suppress hunger pangs. Just like a car’s fuel light comes on when it’s running low, the hunger signal is a signal that our body’s energy is running low. Now, that’s where the problem begins. If you put water in instead of gasoline when that light comes on, the car won’t go. The body is the same. If it doesn’t get the RIGHT energy source it needs, the hunger signal will continue. You might feel full for a moment with pastries, bread, buns, or pasta, but your insulin balance is disrupted so much, your blood sugar fluctuates so much, that you want to eat something again, and that’s what we call appetite. Then you blame yourself for getting hungry so often, “But I have such a big appetite.” You say that and then you eat a dessert. Then your blood sugar spikes again. Two hours later, the hunger signal flashes again. This is a physical and real cycle. You can’t stop it by taking pills, powders, or some herbal tablets. You can slow it down temporarily; but it doesn’t disappear, and it shouldn’t.

I absolutely need to explain this physical cycle. The more you consume high-carbohydrate foods (pasta, bread, pastries, pies, sweets, rice, sugary drinks, alcohol), the less your appetite will be. Only when you reduce these and replace them with plenty of vegetables/salads/good protein (meat, legumes, eggs, chicken, fish, turkey) and some good fats to satisfy your hunger at mealtimes, will you experience what it’s like to not feel hungry for hours. As long as the body doesn’t receive this right fuel it needs, it will constantly send that signal. If you eat the right foods for even just one week, you will see that you stay full for hours without needing any powders or tablets.

Look, above is a real story written to me by one of my program participants in the second week. You can only reduce your appetite by NUTRITION. Feeling full is one thing, nourishing yourself is another. Here’s a concept for you to think about.

Lots of love 💗
